DSIP Peptide: What Does Sleep Research Show?

This article describes published research, not personal treatment or dosing advice. Experimental compounds may not be approved for human use.

What is DSIP?

Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) is a short peptide investigated in early sleep physiology experiments.

What did human trials find?

Small studies reported some improvements in sleep measures. However, a double-blind study involving 16 chronic insomniacs concluded that short-term DSIP treatment was unlikely to provide major therapeutic benefit. The findings are mixed.

Does DSIP improve deep sleep?

The name refers to early observations, but consistent improvement in human slow-wave sleep has not been established.

Is DSIP a proven treatment for insomnia?

No. The small, older trials do not establish an effective or approved insomnia treatment.

How does DSIP compare with Selank?

DSIP research focuses on sleep physiology, while Selank research focuses more on anxiety-related responses.
